Ireland 2026
Our journey to Ireland started on Wednesday, the sixth of October, at 11 am at the airport in Graz. After spending multiple hours on the plane and at the airport, we arrived in Dublin, where we got to spend our first evening getting to know our host families and sharing our first authentic Irish meals, such as Irish Stew.
The first big adventure of our second day was finding the language school. Luckily, the locals were super helpful and kind, which is why we found the right place in no time. In the evening, we went on an interesting tour where we not only got to see a lot of the city but also learned more about its history.
On Friday, we continued exploring the city on our own with a fun street quiz. The weekend offered two bus trips: one to the medieval city of Kilkenny, with its beautiful castle, and one to the green valley of Glendalough.
We also gained a lot of knowledge about Irish culture, history, emigration, and the vikings through visiting the EPIC and Dublinia museums on Monday and Tuesday. We even went bowling as a fun group activity. On Wednesday, we got to see Ireland‘s oldest public library and the impressive St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We celebrated our last evening on Thursday with a pub singalong at the Ha' Penny Bridge In.
Between discovering new places, figuring out the city’s convenient public transport, and learning a few Gaelic phrases, we created memories that will stay with us for a long time!
